Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2014 Inductees

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducts new members each year to join the rankings of the best performers and contributors to rock and roll. There have been 29 induction ceremonies since the Hall’s creation in 1986 that have included inductees such as Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Rod Stewart, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, and James Brown. This year nine inductees were invited to join the Hall. Below are the 2014 inductees, listed by which awards they have been offered.



Cat Stevens: Hits include “Wild World” and “Peace Train”

Daryl Hall and John Oates: Better known as Hall & Oates. Hits include “Maneater” and “Kiss on My List”

Nirvana: Led by lead singer, the late Kurt Cobain. Hits include “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Heart-Shaped Box”

Kiss: Led by lead singer Gene Simmons. Hits include “Rock n Roll All Night” and “I Was Made for Lovin’ You”

Linda Ronstadt: Hits include ”You’re No Good” and “Blue Bayou”

Peter Gabriel: Hits include “Red Rain” and “Sledgehammer”


Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement

Brian Epstein: Manager for The Beatles throughout their career.

Andrew Loog Oldham: Former manager of The Rolling Stones.


The Award for Musical Excellence

The E Street Band: Hits include “Born in the USA” and “Blinded by the Light”
